Around Glasgow

Glasgow has something to offer everyone whether it is a taste of its culture, shopping or food. Visitor attractions span the length and breadth of Glasgow, whether you are looking for art galleries and museums, parks and gardens, architecture and design, gigs and events, theatre, shopping, having a flutter ... or just relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere.

To get an insight into Glasgow in years gone by a trip to the People's Palace at Glasgow Green is highly recommended. It is an education and a celebration on how life has evolved for the Glaswegians. To hear some proper "banter" of a bygone Glasgow a trip to The Barras is a must and you could also manage to grab a bargain.

Glasgow is proving to be a very popular destination for short city breaks, since there is so much to do - and much of it for free.

Famed for it's rich cultural history and heritage, no visit to Glasgow would be complete without visiting one of it's Universities, wandering down one of it's famous streets (such as Buchanan Street or Sauchiehall Street), or taking in a game of the national sport - football.

Another factor in Glasgow's favour is the ease of getting around, thanks to excellent public transport links - see our Travel Information page for more details.
