Kelvingrove Park

On the banks of the River Kelvin in Glasgow stands beautiful Kelvingrove Park, a traditional Victorian park that offers delightful walks, a Museum and Art Gallery and a wide range of sporting facilities. The park was first designed by Sir Joseph Paxton and opened to the public in 1852. The park was part of the expansion of the city westwards, on land purchased by the Town Council from the Kelvingrove and Woodland estates. Over the years, it has been the site of two international exhibitions and one Scottish exhibition.

The 34 hectares of Kelvingrove Park are just a few minutes' walk from the Sandyford Lodge on Royal Crescent, making it the ideal choice of accommodation for visitors to Glasgow who would like to enjoy the scenery and the amenities on offer at Kelvingrove Park. Our hotel offers 19 comfortable rooms that have recently been tastefully refurbished. There are tea- and coffee-making facilities and hairdryers in every room, along with direct-dial telephones, flat-screen televisions and free access to Wi-Fi. You can start the day with a choice between a cooked Scottish and a continental breakfast every morning, as our great accommodation deals all include a hearty breakfast.

Take a stroll after breakfast to Kelvingrove Park. It is a haven for many species of flora and fauna, such as otters, kingfishers and herons. There are a number of statues and monuments of interest within the park, along with a recently restored bandstand, a skate park and bowling greens.
