Queen Street Station in Glasgow is one of the two mainline railway stations serving Scotland's largest and liveliest city. It is located at the northern end of Queen Street next to George Square. This station services the Greater Glasgow area, and is also the terminus for all intercity services to Edinburgh and the North of Scotland. The station first opened in 1842 and today occupies two levels, with the Edinburgh shuttle arriving into and departing from the High Level and the Low Level a hub for electric rail services to the Greater Glasgow area.
